COVID-19 — Coronavirus — Elders Message

A MESSAGE FROM THE ELDERS

REGARDING CORONAVIRUS — January 2021

It has been almost a year since we began dealing with Covid. It has always been difficult to know exactly what to do or not do to protect all of you as much as possible while trying to provide for your spiritual needs. We, the elders, fully realize the potential dangers of exposure to Covid while coming together for worship, but we also realize the need for spiritual renewal and fellowship. We have tried to balance both of these concerns by taking as many precautions as possible to minimize the spread of Covid in our worship services for those who wish to attend in person. We recognize that some of you have medical conditions or interactions with elderly relatives that make it potentially dangerous for you to worship in person. We continue to respect your decision to worship via electronic means until this danger is past. For others, there is a pressing desire to meet together in worship. We have tried to make that possible without being overbearing, and we are asking for your cooperation in observing precautionary measures although you might not agree with some of those measures. We have even organized the order of worship to allow anyone who is concerned about potential dangers to leave before singing begins or not to participate in Bible study. In-person worship continues to be a voluntary decision on each member’s part. That extends to the introduction of Bible classes for younger children. We are taking as many precautions as possible to prevent the spread of Covid, but are also trying to accommodate the spiritual needs of some members who feel the necessity of having their children in Bible class. Participation in these classes is strictly voluntary. We continue to ask for your patience, understanding, and cooperation in helping us make worship as safe as possible for all. That includes wearing a mask and not attending in-person worship if you know you have Covid, have been recently exposed to someone known to have Covid, or are experiencing any of the symptoms related to Covid. Together, we will try to keep everyone safe and continue to worship in the manner we have chosen based on our personal circumstances.
