Is IS is?

TRUTH! I cannot believe it! I was born into a world that profoundly respected, wanted, demanded, truth. All of us knew the quest in life was for truth. Parents drilled this into children. Courts demanded it of witnesses. Honesty was the only policy. To not know, have, truth, is eternal suicide. TRUTH!

TRUTH! Yet the issue is not truth – the issue is God! If there is no truth, then there is no God! A transcendent God reveals absolute truth. So, I cannot believe it! Educated, sophisticated, high-tech moderns deny absolute truth. 70% believe in no absolute truth ... 55-60% of "Born Again Believers" do not believe in absolute truth. Our culture would rather die than think. You cannot believe in God, then deny truth! Which way will you take? "Is IS is" or "Is IS ain’t"? Is all you can know, is that you don’t know?

Recently, in a public forum, a speaker was asked, "Can you be wrong?" "Well, yes ... well, no!" Since all of us can be wrong, does not mean none of us can be right. If all of us can be wrong, how can we conclude all of us are heaven bound? Not to know everything, does not mean we cannot know some things. Because we can be wrong does not mean we cannot be right. What if I am right? Christianity is more than thinking; but Christianity is not "not thinking." Are you right when you declare, "there is no absolute truth"? Can you be wrong? Can you know anything? Truth is fidelity to the original. Truth is a person, Jesus. "We walk by faith and not by sight." Luke wrote that we may know that we know (Luke 1). John wrote that we may know we have eternal life (1 John 5). Paul knew in whom he had believed.

Furman Kearley has a daily prayer, "Lord, help us to know the truth, seek the truth, find the truth, believe the truth, obey the truth, teach the truth, and be united in truth." AMEN!

"Buy the truth and sell it not" (Bible).
