Bell Shoals Church of Christ Ministries

Each of the congregation's ministries is handled by one of the Deacons' Committees. You will find links to those committees which have a page of their own. For a list of the Committees and their personnel see the Deacons Page HERE.

Bear-Makers supply the emergency room of the local hospital with little bears to comfort children who come there for medical attention

The Benevolence Committee provides assistance to our members and those in community in need and hosts Community Outreach Events which include an annual Back-2-School Health Fair and BackPack Giveaway and an annual Holiday Dinner & Gift Giveaway. The Community Outreach page is HERE. Our Hope Closet food pantry and clothing supply is no longer available as we plan for our future move to another location. Please keep checking for announcements on its re-opening.

Our Bible Camp is held annually on Florida Bible Camp's site. The congregation provides a Camp Director for Week One of the camping season which takes places in June and which is hosted by Bell Shoals Church of Christ and South Trail Church of Christ of Sarasota. The Building & Grounds Committee at present does maintenance on the new property we own at 3949 Lithia Pinecrest road, Valrico, where we'll soon be building our new worship space, classrooms, and so on.

Counseling: Dwight Eppler conducts the Refuge Counseling Center located on Lithia Pinecrest Road a mile south of Bloomingdale Avenue – at the church offices 3849 Lithia Pinecrest Road in Valrico. The Refuge Counseling page is HERE

The Education Committee promotes the spiritual growth of every member by providing Bible Classes staffed by competent teachers. Classes are available for everyone from infants to adults—See details of our Bible Classes HERE.

The Evangelism Ministry focuses on making visitors feel welcome, handles the distribution of brochures and tracts and teaches classes for Prospective Members where they can become acquainted with what we believe, and classes for New Members which gives them a thorough grounding in Scripture.

The Fellowship Ministry conducts events to strengthen the fellowship of members of the congregation and works with the Benevolence Ministry to run an annual FALL FEST which is a community outreach event.

The Annual Ladies' Retreat in The Son: This is held yearly, usually in September or October. More information is available on the Crescendo Ladies' page HERE

Men's Retreat: This is held early in the year at Florida Bible Camp. The 2018 Men's Retreat with the theme of Unity was held from February 16th to 18th.

The Missions Ministry, part of the Evangelism Ministry, encourages communication with missionaries by members of the congregation. The Missions page lists the works which the congregation presently supports HERE

The Planning & Building Committee is in charge of the congregation's vision for construction and development of new worship facilities on the Lithia Pinecrest property.

Quilters make quilts which they send to Christian Home & Bible School at Mt Dora for distribution to orphans in their care, or to use in fund-raising.

The Worship Committee prepares a monthly Work-Sheet for members with details of duties at each of the congregation's services. It also provides audio and Podcast coverage of the Sunday sermons which you can find at the Sermons-On-Line page HERE

The Youth program is led by our Youth Minister, Logan Butler. It holds a weekly dinner for its members, either at the church building or at a local eatery. week day devotionals are held a couple of times a month at members' homes, and there are frequent external activities.
